My poster is focusing on the concept of intellectual property, and the vertical diffusion of the information in the digital era, that groups of intellectuals, IT, engineers and artist have been criticizing for many years. They, in fact, propose an horizontal diffusion of the knowledge and an open-source filosophy.
My project therefore, wanted to represent a digital protest through notes, pop-up, internet windows, etc., that show up in a very caothic way. In fact, there is a lot of visual and auditory noise, as in the public demonstrations, created by machine languages. The “glitch effect”, proper of the digital world, represents the distortion of the message that often happens during a real-life protest.
The color palette represents the same visual aspects of the first computer screens. I have switched the colours to give more importance to the green, and to make the poster more catchy.
The printed version of the poster is composed by a lot of papers; I have done this to transpose the overlapping windows’ noise into the reality.
Thanks to my friend Andrea Vago for helping me with animation.
